Water treatment
The ionic exchange resin demineralisation plants allow to eliminate the salts dissolved into the water to be treated, specifically salts that can cause inconveniences during the various industrial processes or incrustations into the steam generators.
Their feeding can happen by means of network water for installations producing demineralised water or by means of washing process for water recycling installations.Ion exchange resin plants are basically constituted by a cationic resin treatment section and ananionic resin processing section.
These resins are provided with active functional groups, anchored to the matrix, capable of exchanging their mobile ions with the same charge ions contained in the solution they come into contact with.
Cationic resins eliminate cations and the anionic resins eliminate the anions. Through the use of mixed bed resins (mixtures of cationic and anionic resins), Petrostar provide sultrapure demineralized water systems with conductivity less than 0,1 μS/cm.
